This Summer: Three Pictures for Our Travel Bags

“Seeing with the Senses” —the Benaki Museum program for visitors with low vision or blindness— is celebrating International Museum Day 2020 #IMD2020 with an online program for all visitors. With the theme “This Summer: Three Pictures for our Travel Bags”, we will focus on landscape—a recurring theme of the Ghika Gallery—exploring three images that depict the clarity and saturation of the summer light.

The selected works are by Greek painters Nikos Engonopoulos, Gerasimos Steris and Spyros Papaloukas, whose travels to existing or imaginary destinations we will follow through poetry, sound and verbal description.

During the program participants will have the opportunity to share a memory of a summer landscape that is meaningful to them.

The program will be conducted in Greek.
