It is with great sadness that the Hellenic National Committee of the International Council of Museums ICOM bids farewell to Marina Lambraki-Plaka, Director of the National Gallery, who passed away on Monday 13 June 2022 after 30 years in service.
Lambraki-Plaka was a visionary of a museum that is open to society and worked tirelessly to this end. The impact of her work re-defined the relationship of Greek audiences with visual arts.
